Vernier Cables - In-Field Adjustment

4 February 2025

How Do I Adjust My Vernier Cable in the Field?

This article deals specifically with the “how to” of adjusting the Vernier Head in the manner required for different applications.

Adjustment in the field is necessary as factory settings do not always meet each installation requirement. Each vernier cable is factory tested for correct operation prior to dispatch.

Our Vernier Cables can be adjusted at the Vernier Head as shown below:

Terminology

  1. Release Button
  2. Throttle Adjustment Knob
  3. Vernier Shaft
  4. Brake Adjustment Wheel
  5. Brake

Image One - Depress the Release button to allow macro (large) throttle adjustment up and down.

Image Two - Turning the Throttle Adjustment Knob clockwise or counterclockwise will provide micro (small) throttle adjustment.

Image Three - Turning the Brake Adjustment Wheel clockwise or counterclockwise will allow for increased or decreased friction applied to the Vernier Shaft. This will give a heavy or lighter operating feel to the cable.
